Layers in Time

This painting dates back to 2008, within my first year of aliyah to Israel.

The beautiful thing about growth and rebuilding is that you build over the layers of your past. The memories of forgotten worlds lay buried beneath the foundation of your new life. And when you have a personal or national connection to the land on which you have rebuilt… the topmost layer itself is nourished by the roots, and all comes full cirlcle.
